Mavs Finally Get their Shit Straight: Later, Finley

Later Fin, it's been nice knowing you. Michael Finley helped build the Mavericks into the team it is today. It's a sad day for us to see him go.
DALLAS -- Michael Finley was waived late Monday night by the Dallas Mavericks, who took advantage of a one-time amnesty provision that will allow them to avoid luxury taxes on the $51.8 million owed their captain over the next three seasons.

The Mavs spent all day Monday exploring trade options, and waited until just before the late-night deadline to release Finley and take advantage of the provision in the NBA's new labor agreement.
I'm lying. I'm happy to see him go. Don't get me wrong, I'm very much grateful for the years that Finley put into the team but it's reached that point where we have to send him to the dog food/glue factory. Let's be honest, he's not worth $51.8 million. It's a win/win situation. Finley gets his money, Cuban doesn't have to pay the luxury tax, and we don't have to see him put up mediocre numbers in a Dallas jersey any more. I just hope he doesn't Nash out on us and have a stand out year for a Western conference rival. The Spurs are interested in picking him up and if he goes there then I'll personally drive down to San Antonio and pick fights with the entire stinky river walk. As my colleague once said, "fuck Shamu and Tim Duncan"

I just don't get why the knicks didn't drop that piece of shit Houston. Isiah Thomas is an idiot. I like what I heard somebody say once about him, I forgot who but I think it was on Around the Horn, there is two I's in idiot and two in Isiah.
